Once we receive the trays at our practice, you'll return for an appointment where we'll help you with the first set of trays to ensure they fit securely and comfortably. Our dentist will make any needed adjustments and give you detailed treatment and care guidelines to promote the success of your treatment.

Caring for Your Invisalign Clear Braces

Caring for your Invisalign clear braces is vital to ensuring your treatment succeeds. We'll provide you with all the detailed information you need to feel confident about the Invisalign process and taking care of your aligners. Some important care tips to keep in mind include:

Eating & Drinking: We recommend removing your clear aligners when eating or drinking anything other than water. If left in, food debris can get stuck between the trays and your teeth, causing discoloration and foul odors. After eating, we recommend brushing your teeth before putting your trays back on.

Keeping Aligners Safe & Secure: Because your Invisalign trays are small and translucent, they can be easy to misplace. We recommend placing clear braces in their carrying case when you take them off. If you do end up losing a tray, contact our practice immediately to begin the process of getting a replacement made, if needed. Our dentist will let you know what to do, often recommending you wear the previous trays until the lab provides your replacement.

Keeping Aligners Clean: Be sure to rinse your aligners with water any time you take them off before putting them back on, and clean them thoroughly at least once a day. You should always use a soft-bristled toothbrush and clear, scentless antibacterial soap when cleaning your clear braces. Avoid using hard-bristled toothbrushes or toothpaste to clean the trays, which can scratch and damage them.
